About the lecture
Introducing what Fang Di has lived in the Papua New Guinea country for two years. According to the historical origins and the differences in the living environment of different ethnic groups, contemporary society has brought impact to the primitive social values, and the nation is following different paths.

 

About the speaker: Artist Fang Di

Fang Di graduated from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 2010, and got an MFA from Maryland Institute College of Art in 2013. He currently works in Shenzhen, China, and Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. In 2018, he was shortlisted for the Sanya Huayu Youth Award. In the same year, he participated in the Shanghai Biennale and the Julia Stoschek Collection group exhibition “New Metallurgist” in Düsseldorf. His works convey not only the evolution of urbanization, but also his personal attitude. He is interested in social practice, and he often seeks his identity and put himself into the creative process. His works use multiple artistic vocabularies to investigate the entanglement in city life, and reflect on the rapid and chaotic changes involved in today’s society.
